Are you tired of reading the same mock draft article over and over? Have you had enough cheese with that whine they are serving in Boston? Perhaps there are visions of possibilities dancing in your heads after hearing about Kobe’s recent trade demand?
Welcome to the Dropping Dimes Do-Over Draft! We allow each franchise (remember when we called them teams? And “cities” were where they played?) to do-over one of their own draft picks. But unlike this re-writing of Celtics history, where Tim Duncan, Tracy McGrady and Steve Nash miraculously ended up on the same team and play together forever until everybody knows their names, this draft clings to some shred of reality.

Cue the music! Nothing gets me pumped like classic Rocky! Our fight card as usual features two great contests, but first we survey what has transpired over the past week!
And if the Rocky vs. Drago reference does not give you a hint, this week the theme involves a USA-homegrown player versus someone from international lands! Perhaps there is a bit of the underdog versus the intimidating champ, but which is which? You decide!

Dropping Dimes One-on-One Tourney: Round 1, Games 9 and 10

With Games 7 and 8 wrapping up, our one-on-one tourney finds itself halfway through the first round! So far the winners include Kobe Bryant, Gilbert Arenas, and Tony Parker. Unlike the conference semi-finals, Shawn Marion gets to move on with Tim Duncan.
The buzz has been about how suspensions to Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw tainted the Spurs-Suns series. Also it has come to light what a cheap shot artist Bruce Bowen is. And I do mean artist...he’s the Picasso of the gut punch! Have no fear as Bowen did not receive an invitation to our tourney. But I do have him pictured defending one of our contestants, someone who has gone on record saying just how much he appreciates Bruce’s play.

LeBron: Second Team All NBA?
Posted by Scott Sargent Categories: Central Division, Cleveland Cavaliers, Editorial, Props, Talent,
Now, I know DroppingDimes.com is a fantasy hoops blog. I just can’t help but direct you guys to Brian Windhorst’s blog post today. For those of you that don’t know Windhorst, he’s one of the best beat writers in the league today - and thankfully, he covers the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He’s so well respected that he’s frequently mentioned in Henry Abbott’s TrueHoop Blog, as well as Dan Steinberg’s Washington Post Blog (DC Sports Bog). Why should you check out today’s post? Well, he does a little “digging” if you will, and by “digging,” I mean simple math to show you how LeBron James got screwed out of the First Team All-NBA.

Dropping Dimes One-on-One Tourney: Round 1, Games 5 and 6

So far in this tourney, we’ve had speed vs. speed, small vs. big, and talent vs. experience. Now we move on to the metaphorical unstoppable force against the unmovable object and pit two big men against in each other in this week’s pair of match-ups.
Remember that year David Robinson won the league MVP, and “the Dream” gave him a message during the playoffs by outplaying him? The question of the day is how would these four men step up to the challenge!

Our one-on-one tournament continues this week, with two match-ups that fall within the theme of “David vs. Goliath.” What happens when you pit a 7-footer against a star who gives up more than six inches in height? Could Jordan have taken Wilt or Bill Russell or Kareem in their prime?
First we recap our results from last week: Lebron vs. Kobe and Arenas vs. AI.

That noise you hear outside the window is Dennis organizing his own victory parade…

The fantasy basketball season has wrapped up and the real playoffs have started. That is enough to satisfy any NBA hoophead, but playoff pool action is not nearly as prevalent as regular season play. Furthermore, although the all-star game offers fifteen minutes of spotlight every year to the three-point shooting contest, and while the dunk contest has offered some drama over the years, the festivities always fall short of the hype. After all, the skills challenge gets props for being the only event that can attract the biggest stars (Lebron, Kobe, Nash and Chris Paul this year), but it hardly satisfies our appetites for seeing the best go against the best.
NBA players would never agree to a one-on-one tournament; the risk of injury and loss of pride would be too great. That does not prevent us from talking about it though. It would be the coolest event ever. If only we could rewind the clock and have the likes of Magic and Michael settle things on the court for real. This brings us to our latest Dropping Dimes feature, designed to bridge the gap between the end of this season and the end of the dogs of summer!
